If you or someone you love ends up in a bed at Baptist Health Paducah, the nurses have a new helper. The Baptist Health Foundation Paducah donated 185 Hercules Patient Repositioners, according to a news release. They attach to existing hospital beds.

A conveyor-like system moves a patient higher in bed with the push of a button. One caregiver can do a task that typically takes two or three staff members, the hospital said.

"My goal is to reduce the burden for the bedside staff," said Marilyn Riley, vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health Paducah. She said nurses can spend more than an hour per shift manually repositioning patients.
